I was wondering why so many readers don’t understand many of my points at all. I mean literally – at all. I’m a person who observes things and reflects on thoughts, actions, and everything I see around. So, I sent myself a task on that matter. I was constantly observing men and women communicating, husbands and wives interacting, kids and teens playing together, youngsters battling their way through.

In order to understand a lot of things in life, we need to start with our own basics and figure or know what are they. I look around and see that people, in many cases, don’t think. People react, yell at each other, and try to prove their points. Then, go on to grieve the remaining shreds of their relationships, and not realizing that that’s their art.

What people will be thinking about what I write? Women and men? Perfect relationships? Women often think, “I drive him down! He has to know his place.”

DO YOU THINK SOCIETY LIVES HAPPILY WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT? I DOUBT IT.

Anyway, I started to look for the roots of that. Why is it that people here in the states are so much angrier, yet more lonely and hungry for love than people in any other country? Have you ever thought about that? I have.

From what I have observed, I can tell you that the major problem is a lack of respect. I’m talking about respect to your spouse, other people, and specifically to those older than you. This does mean you need to respect whoever is older. I’m not talking about a 90-year-old invalid who can’t move, and who someone is pushing around on his wheelchair. No! I’m talking about people older than you. For instance, we need to respect someone who is 5-10 years older than us. That’s because this person is not a peer. She or he has more experience in life than us. Even if we think that person is stupid, we still need to learn to respect them. We must respect our parents and this is the biggest problem in our society.

LOOK AT TEENAGERS. THEY HAVE ALMOST NO RESPECT FOR THE OLDER GENERATION.

They think they know it all. This may be due to the fact that the youth today have the technology and are advanced in so many areas. These youngsters almost always think that parents are old-fashioned and not up to the current trends. That is not acceptable. That is where the entire problem starts. There is a lack of respect and misunderstanding of the whole respect concept. We don’t even want to hear about respecting our spouse, and then we are surprised when our marriage is not as good as we thought it would be.

I don’t want those who are older to stick this article in your children’s face saying “See? This is what you need to do!” I want to make it a point that we should, not only respect older people and parents, but we must respect our children as well. Only by respecting our children will we set an example for them to act on. If we continue to act and live like we used to, we are not going to be successful in our relationships.

We are in one of the 5 tops countries with the highest rate of single and lonely people. Can you imagine? We are one of the top countries that is developing and creating life, technology, and yet to the rest of the world – we are missing the most important element, respect to others. Are we that arrogant and ignorant? Is there a basis for the rest of the world to see us as “Americans”? And do we agree to be on the back of the bus when it comes to happiness? Should we finally learn something, allow ourselves to be happy, and try new ways of life in order to achieve it? Respect, my lovely readers. Let’s start with a simple task that is respect. Let’s respect an ordinary Joe for being ordinary. Let’s respect our parents for what they believe in, and stop pushing our thoughts and believes in them. Let’s respect our older friends for their actions and stop being upset or judgmental towards them. Let’s respect ourselves with our actions and thoughts, BUT please learn to respect others first.
